Santaclautchi was released only in Japan in November of 1998. At that time, many Santa Tamas were sold by individuals living in japan directly through email, Usenet groups, and IRC (internet relay chat) channels. I used to buy Japanese Tamagotchi from a nice person named Jason. Well, the price of the Santa was always expensive and somehow I never got one... until now. :) My soul sister Cay bought me one from ebay for my birthday this year (2025). :)
When it comes to rare Tamagotchi, I do not feel picky about what shell I get or any damage it has to it, as long as I can have the experience. Well, like 1990s shells often do, my Santa Tama has paint wear and scratches. It doesn't matter to me though - I still think this Tama is beautiful. Cay gave it to me with thoughtfulness and a caring heart. Cay understands my love of Tamagotchi and actively is encouraging me to enjoy life again. I feel so blessed to have gotten this Tamagotchi. I may decorate it someday with holiday stickers. :)
