Hello, Tama friends! I hope you are having a good new year! How was your Christmas? I hope you found many Tamagotchi added to your collection!

I ended up taking an unexpected break from writing late last year and so I decided I would write a general Tama log to gather my thoughts about all things Tamagotchi.

While I wasn't making logs on this section, I was writing logs in my Tama Santa section, Tama Paradise section, and making changes here and there. I have also been running a lot of Tamagotchi!

So, what happened last year when I stopped writing logs?
Well here in Florida we are quite overrun with property taxes. It's been a real weight on my income and a struggle to keep things afloat at times. We got notice that our taxes were going down... so we had a refund coming.

Okay, wait a minute, this conversation actually requires me to go back to Aug 2021. My heart doggy, William, got sick due to old age and passed away. He left behind his partner in crime - Charlie. She got depressed sadly after losing her lifelong best friend. I did too actually. I was completely overridden with grief. William was my best friend.

Charlie managed to hang on until November of 2024 where, she too, passed away of old age (nearly 20 years old!).

Ever since losing Charlie we have been dogless... and we both grew up with pets, so it felt empty here. Thanks to the economy, we were unable to afford a pet anymore. We don't just buy pets, but we always want to buy all of the extra toys and stuffs and be able to afford to give that pet a good life. So, yeah, we really couldn't afford much... until around December 2025.

For months I had been wanting to get us both a doggy.. then a refund check for tax overpayment came to us from the tax peoples department (the official name I'm sure :p ).

A spark of hope erupted in my heart, but I had to keep it to myself. I began looking at doggies in rescue shelters and humane society. Somewhere along the way I realized that I can't choose a dog online. This is a new family member - this special someone had to be chosen in person. So I saved money and decided to give Cay a card.

We always joke about getting to our list of "'round-to-its" and "some days". I was ready to make this "someday" possible!

So I kept dropping extremely subtle hints, but as it turns out she didn't notice them. I only wore a dog costume for all of December in Finch haha.. :)

Dennis's Mom made me a bunch of very nice cards to give to others. She hand makes beautiful cards and I just knew one of her designs would fit the specialness of the event. On the inside I drew a doggy with wagging tail with the announcement that we have to get a new doggy on the 26th. Cay was overjoyed!

We went to the humane society the next day. We both agreed we needed a doggy to be 50lbs or less, an adult, and a dog who had been waiting for a home for a long while.

An hour later we stepped outside with two doggies - whom added up together reached 45-50 pounds. And that was an interesting ride home as I held a hyper energetic doggy in my lap named Johnny - and another energetic doggy in the back of the car named Jimmylee. That was a wild and crazy ride home. Both these beautiful doggies wanted attention and cuddles right there in the car. I had to somehow keep them entertained in the car while Cay drove on the highway lol..

And so began the adventure of the Joy of Doggy Love :)
