Tamagotchi Log 07/24/2025

group of tamagotchi

Hello! Sorry I've been so absent. I am actually working on several projects for the website, so I'm really excited about that! I just wanted to finish a log that I've had partially done for over a month haha :) Then I'm moving onto a secret project :D

I did completely my update of the Tamagotchi Planet index, I'm happy to say! I hope you think it looks much nicer than before. There's one thing I know.. I am not any better at making art than I was in the 1990's. So I guess that has not improved much, but I am doing my best. I was never an artist, only a coder lol.

The left navigation concept was put in the website at a time that making the most use of all of the space on a page visible on a laptop or desktop was all the thing. Now with phones, the page needs to be less wide and a little bigger to be readable, so in a way I am going back to a more 1990's style of websites. I am happy about that too - simple looks nicer! However it is difficult to change everything all at once. It is a work in progress to fix what already exists and create new content, but I am trying to make it happen. Unfortunately, I used the left nav concept in several places on the website. The pages that look nicest with left nav I likely will not change, like the TamaSuku page.

I have been asked - am I going to update my collection page? Yes, I definitely will! It is on the list of things I am working on. I plan to include pictures too. This probably will not happen until after I add a new section (or four) and also update the P1/P2 section. However, I will continue to keep track of my new Tamagotchi here in the logs.

Briana's Kindness

I have mentioned before that I am trying to rebuild my original collection and also obtain Tamagotchi I missed out on over the years. And of course some I always wanted but never obtained. As you can tell from my logs that over the past several months I have mostly only been able to get newer Tamagotchi - though I am definitely not complaining. I love that they have returned to the shelves and I love all of the beautiful designs and colors.

So in late December I get a kind and thoughtful email from Briana. She's a long time reader of my website and needed to sell some of her Tama collection to help her pay for college. She read in my logs I'm interested in buying Tamagotchi - so this was serendipity.

Briana sent me over a list of Tama's and prices. I am forever grateful to her for pricing them within my ability to buy them. I am struggling with a lot of bills, thanks to the hurricane and tornado that hit my house, but she priced them in a way that helped me buy several of them. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to her.

Honestly, I feel like she practically gave them to me. That touches my heart. I did not expect this to happen. I was speechless when I got the email.

I narrowed down Briana's list to the Tama's I did not have - which at this point I wanted all of them. I had nearly all of the P1/P2 and some others she was selling, we have the same taste in shell colors. Then I tried (with much difficulty) to narrow that list down to what I could afford. And that was painfully difficult. I really wanted to buy them all, not only to have them, but to help her as well.

I ended buying 8 Tamagotchi, 6 K-Tama's, 1 Japanese P1, and 1 Entama, from Briana. They are pictured at the top of this log.

  • Akai Keitei Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus Orange and Red K-Tama (Red Pixels)
  • Akai Keitei Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus All White K-Tama (Red Pixels)
  • Akai Keitei Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus White with Green "TMGC" and Green border and buttons K-Tama (Red Pixels)
  • Japanese P1 Light Blue with Pink Numbers and Pink buttons and border
  • Keitei Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus Light Blue with Spaceship with Silver border and White buttons K-Tama
  • Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus Pink with Hearts and Silver border and White buttons K-Tama
  • Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus Tan with Tea Cup and White border and buttons K-Tama
  • Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus Light Blue with Kuchipatchi "CIAO" with Yellow border and Red* buttons Entama

K-Tama's have several beautiful shells I really like, so it was difficult to narrow the list down.

The P1 is one I have always wanted. I saw that P1 everywhere back in the '90s on Japanese websites. I put a chain on it and he looks great. I ran him recently and got Mametchi. :)

The Entama is so very cute. I want to get a Deka to go with him someday! I've never had any experience with this Tamagotchi, but I am looking forward to it. :) I do need to figure out how to fix the loop (like on MimitchiTama) so I can attach a chain. While I do not put them on a typical "key"chain, I do hang them on my fingers when I carry them around. And sometimes I have so many that I need to play the game with at the same time, that it's easier to put the chains around my fingers and lay them all across my palm and play the game with them all at the same time. I've always done that, it works out really well. I will have to upload a youtube video of me playing with them like that someday. So I am thinking about what I can do for fixing that loop on both this P1 and MimitchiTama. Hmmm.

The K-Tama is a completely new Tamagotchi for me. I have not played with them yet. I like to write about my first experiences on the website as it happens, so while I have tested them and peaked at the menus, I have not done a full run yet. They are going to get their own section on the website in the future! :)

That is also the case with the Enjoi Tamagotchi - he will get his own section on the website in the future. <3

Anyhow, I really meant to post this log much sooner in the year. With the surgery, house problems, and other things IRL, I just somehow got backlogged on everything. I apologize to Briana for the delay as I really wanted to talk about you sooner. Your kindness forever touches my heart. I also very much appreciate the little extra gifts and the kind notes you included. I saved them. <3
