Tamagotchi Log 7/21/98

7/21/98: Well, I've had Morino going for only 2 days and he changed already into Imotchi today, from Baby-Motchi. He got sick this evening around 6:17pm. I don't know if it's because I missed a predator or if it's just a normal routine sickness. I know he has yet a couple of days until he goes into a cocoon. I hope hope hope hope hope that this time I will have more luck and get any character except that dung beetle. It sure would be nice for a change, not that I don't like that character... but variety is the spice of life, right?

I've decided that when my Morino does go into the cocoon I am going to change the temperature once every 30 minutes, no matter what it says. I will pause it overnight to make sure I can keep up with this because it just really is too hard to care for it all night long while I'm trying to get a good night's sleep before work the next day. Hopefully he will go into a cocoon on Friday night, then I have all weekend, so I will be able to give him more of my full attention, then I would be able to do if I were at work.

Mimitchi is doing okay at age 14 today. He has gotten a little more needy then I'm used to, but that's all right. Things have been rather hard, I'm happy he's been here with me to help me through. I've been kinda miserable, but it's passing slowly. I've dived into Tamagotchi and working on my web page daily again. It's just taking a lot of time to catch up on all the email. So if you emailed me, I will get back to you in the near future.

I forgot to mention over my vacation that I bought another Tamagotchi. I believe it was clear purple. I bought it in California, because I thought it would be nice to have a Tama from a different town, not that it would be different or anything. When I got back I bought another, all green with white border and buttons, that was on sale. Stores seem to have all the same stock where ever I look.. the same selection. The only two I seem to be missing in the stock where ever I go is all orange and the half green half red Tama. I don't really like either of them.. but I might buy them just for the heck of it. I really wish they'd do a reprint of some of the colors I missed because I was too broke to buy them.. but for some reason I don't think they will do that. My best bets in getting ones I don't have is by buying on eBay or from Japan. I own 53 Tamagotchi right now.. I think I need more ;)

I also got Nakamura TamaOtch in the mail after I got back from California. I don't know if I mentioned that before or not. But it's nice looking, very nicely painted. All pink egg with white flowers on it, the word "TamaOtch" at the top and underneath it has a cartoon image of Nakamura. I'm happy to have finally got this Tama. I may do a web page about it in the future.. if I can ever figure it out entirely.

I have gone to McDonald's, if you’re wondering. I own three of the "Toyz" right now. They are items 1, 2, 3, & 4. My number 4 has Mimitchi on it! Yes! I love him! I hope to get them all, maybe even the special Wal*Mart #9, if I am really lucky. I've been told that there are more then one version of some of them, particularly number 1, the Growagotchi. I hate to rag on McD's, but I think the names they gave them really suck... but that's an adults opinion of something that is obviously meant for younger children... ;)

I'll tell you more about my McD's toys in another log, I wanna get them all first... ;)

I know they direct them at children.. but I think Tamagotchi them selves are not really meant for only children... I know more adults then children that own Tamagotchi and love them. I mostly only hang out with adults though... but I consider myself more of a kid anyway... "I'm a Toys R Us kid...". But really So many adults enjoy Virtual Pets too... I wish the stereo type that they are only for little kids would go away... I sure ain't no little kids and the characters appeal to me as much as they did to my grandma whom is in her 70's. In fact most everyone at my office had a Virtual pet of some kind 6 months ago. Everyone that I work with, with the exception of 3 is over age 30, most in their 40's. I love Tama's... who cares if people who don't understand them think they are for children? Oh well... just my .00009 cents into this world.

I hatched another Tama tonight after 11pm. He is a Japanese Gen2 Tamagotch, and went to bed after midnight as a Tonmarutchi. Maybe I'll get the secret character?

Oh well time for me to go. Oh, btw I finished the last log finally, if you're interested in reading it. I have so much email to answer and no matter how I ration my time I don't have enough time for email! :P Visit the Glimpse of Tama page.. I put up some more scans of mine, including many of Osu/Mesu!
