McDonald's starts Furby, Monopoly promotions

OAK BROOK, Ill., March 22 (Reuters) - McDonald's Corp. In the Furby promotion, which will run through April 13, children will receive one of 12 plush toy characters equipped with a clip for attachment to bookbags, lunch boxes or jackets.

Customers playing the Monopoly game at participating McDonald's restaurants will be eligible to win over 2.5 million prizes, including $1 million in televisions, food or vacations.

The Monopoly promotion runs through April 20.

McDonald's has nearly 27,000 restaurants serving more than 43 million people each day in 119 countries.

Shares of McDonald's ended unchanged at 35-1/4 in trade on the New York Stock Exchange.
